"Hotel is accross from a construction site, not noisy but street is messy with dirt and materials. Hotel lobby is non-existant, and staff will assist when asked but should be less accomodating to transients/residents in the lobby. Not all rooms have windows, but all rooms have nice decors and comfortable beds.(We changed rooms 3 times prior to the one we accepted)."

"One problem we encountered, the bed linens (sheets) were too small for the king size bed. We were constantly trying to adjust the bottom sheet to stay on the mattress."

"This hotel dates back over 100 years and does not appear to have had their plumbing upgraded since it was built. I took a cold shower when I arrived and utilized the 4 cup coffee pot to heat water so I could have a tolerable temp bath in the morning before leaving. All this was topped off by the valets earning a parking ticket for me which they so nicely left on the floor of my rental car and I noticed as I was leaving New Orleans. No manager has called me back yet on this."

"water pressure in the showers was almost non-existent. Our room had no window - which is okay if you want quiet. My boyfriend went out for a bottle of water and didn't return for an hour - he got stuck in the elevator!"

"This is an exceptional hotel, well worth staying at - especially if you're looking for value. The immediate location is not the nicest, but it's literally a short block from Canal Street and the French Quarter. The hotel itself doesn't quite fit with the rest of the block - it's very pretty, well-kept, has a great restaurant and good service. Also offers secure valet parking for a fee. Very close to the Casino, Aquarium, Ferry and further but still walking distance to Bourbon St. and French Market (and anywhere in the quarter, for that matter). If you can book it at $79 US, you're getting a great value. There are additional fees of at least 13% and probably more like 20% after everything (this applies to ALL hotels), so when you compare $79 to most other hotels in the area that are over $100, it's an exceptional value."
